On March 22, we – Smile-Expo – held the fifth specialized event called Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference Prague. The event brought together blockchain specialists, lawyers, and developers.
Blockchain in logistics and deliveries
The conference involved 15 blockchain experts from the Czech Republic and other countries, including Poland, Hungary, Georgia, France, and Germany. Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference Prague was moderated by Sean Patterson, Co-founder of Euro Digital Partners.
One of the core discussion points was the current development of blockchain and technology potential for enterprises and consortiums. This issue was revealed by Daniel Szegö, Chief DLT Architect at Interticket. The speaker told guests about consortium blockchain requirements: high operation speed, efficiency, and maximum data protection. He mentioned Enterprise Ethereum, Quorum, R3 Corda, and Azure Blockchain platforms as an example.
Miroslav Iwachow, Technical Leader for the Industry Sector at IBM, also explained how the technology could solve corporate system issues. Conference attendees discovered the concept of Hyperledger blockchain and the range of promising solutions based on the technology: in particular, TradeLens for fast and efficient delivery and Food Trust for food safety.
Michael Schloh von Bennewitz, Founder of the Monero Hardware team, talked about blockchain possibilities for logistics, insurance, inventory record, and supplies. He described these sectors as promising for the current application of blockchain and stressed the high security level ensured by the technology.
Blockchain and ICO legal matters
Besides, speakers focused on blockchain legal issues.
Danica Šebestova, Partner at Squire Patton Boggs, highlighted legal aspects of utilizing the technology in projects. According to Ms. Šebestova, one should closely cooperate with lawyers and blockchain architects in order to efficiently solve everything related to KYC, AML, GDPR, and smart contracts.
Artur Kuczmowski, Senior Partner at Thompson&Stein, examined AML and KYC in detail. He shared the concept of these rules for ICO participants.
Moreover, the conference engaged Nigel Crome, MLRO & Head of Compliance at Currency.com. The speaker illustrated how to unlock the potential of tokenized securities.
Exhibition area: blockchain platforms and solutions
We traditionally arranged a separate exhibition area where guests explored new blockchain-based solutions and projects. A number of leading companies presented their services for cryptocurrency trading and money transfers as well as mining equipment.
The Cryptoshib platform introduced two new projects: the Paycore service for simple and prompt financial transactions and a protected blockchain platform – XUEZ. The exhibition area also showcased a new cryptocurrency based on Zcash designed by SnowGem.
