On December 20-21, we held the third event so far, dedicated to connected cars – Connected Car Summit 2016 – in Sokolniki ECC, Moscow. GLONASS Union was a co-organizer, taking the event to a whole new level.
The first day
The first day was dedicated to the thematic conference, where the following issues were reviewed:
- High-end technology trends;
- State of the industry in the Russian and global markets;
- State-of-the-art technologies for smart cars;
- Telematics and insurance.
Conference speakers included: the President of GLONASS Union Alexander Gurko, co-founder of Rightech Ivan Zapolskiy, representative of Delimobil Stanislav Groshov, СЕО of T-Tronic David Shostak, Roman Fershter from Mobile-eye, Vincent Bonne from OCTO Telematics S.p.A., specialists from Bright Box, Yandex, and others.
Between lectures, attendees could get acquainted with the newest products in the demo zone. It featured smart cars, electric cars, prototypes of self-driving cars.
Delimobil and Rightech showcased the latest carsharing solutions, T-Tronic presented a car service aggregator, and Bright box – an application for remote car management.
Booths also offered component parts for connected cars, microelectronics, road-condition forecasting systems, and other innovative products.
The second day
The second day of the event was remembered for panel discussions and announcement of hackathon results, which took place during the summit.
We organized a number of meetings:
Round table with representatives of Skolkovo Foundation, where participants discussed the promotion of projects, devoted to connected cars;
Discussion panel with the demo zone sponsor TTronic, where specialists highlighted what startups were attractive for investors;
Lectures session with the support of StartUP BAZAAR, where the subtleties of project presentation and business modeling were discussed.
As mentioned above, one of the main activities of the summit was hackathon. In total, 15 teams participated, but only 6 of them entered the final competition. And the main mentor was Denis Kozminykh from StartUP BAZAAR.
We would like to express gratitude to the sponsors of hackathon: Delimobil and Rightech.
In the end, the team of Dmitriy Sukhoruchkin turned out to be the best in fulfilling the task from hackathon’s partner. Specialists presented the concept of driver behavior telemetry system that uses a neurointerface, and received a winners cup, six months of license for Rightech service, as well as 200 minutes package for carsharing from Delimobil.
Second and third places were taken by Sharemobil and WeTrack.Fuel correspondingly. Apart from the main prizes for winners, T-Tronic presented the best teams with 10 devices that support car diagnostics apps. Moreover, participants received certificates from StartON accelerator and Megaplan.
