October 13-14, Russia hosted the largest event in the industry of additive technologies. 3D Print Expo 2017 is already the 5th annual thematic exhibition and conference, held by Smile-Expo in the capital.
This time, the event featured 19 conference speakers, more than 50 exhibitors and a fashion show of three collections of 3D printed clothing. Each activity of 3D Print Expo 2017 had its own eventful program, staying in attendees’ memory for a long time.
In their reports, speakers of 3D Print Expo 2017 covered all the topical issues of the modern market of additive technologies. They talked about business models (Yevgeny Molchanov), design features (Natalia Morozova), raw materials (Konstantin Zheltyi), industrial design (Mikhail Vasiliev) and much more.
The most discussed topic of the conference was 3D printing in medicine. Of high interest was report of Roman Gorbatov, orthopedic traumatologist and the Head of Additive Technologies Laboratory at Nizhny Novgorod Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics of Public Health Ministry of Russian Federation. He showed examples of 3D printed prostheses and paid attention to the topic of additive technologies in pharmacology and veterinary medicine.
The latest German, Belgian and South Korean industry developments were demonstrated during the expert reports. Representatives of such companies as Bosch Rexroth, Siemens and Autodesk shared their examples of the introduction of 3D printing technology.
Exhibition area of 3D Print Expo 2017 included workshops on 3D scanning and printing. Exhibitors competed for the title of the manufacturer of 3D products of the highest quality. The voting among the exhibition visitors determined a winner – PROTOTYPE.
As part of the event, there was also the 5th annual 3D Print Awards ceremony. Experts selected the best companies in 8 categories.
Guests of 3D Print Expo 2017 enjoyed unusual exhibits of the 3D Art Gallery, expanding their cultural horizons and knowledge of art. The most memorable were an octopus from Total Z and extravagant 3D printed balalaikas.
For the first time within the exhibition there was a show of 3D printed clothes – 3D Fashion Show. It demonstrated the collections of three designers: Snezhana Paderina, Irina Tosheva and Alexis Walsh. The outfits of the latter were shown as a video presentation from the USA.
Visitors also enjoyed pleasant presents: one of the lucky winners got a 3D printer Hercules Strong manufactured by IMPRINTA.
