2017 has become a special year for Smile-Expo as the company has held events in many new countries. For the first time ever, our events have taken place in Estonia, Sweden, Slovenia, the UK, Cyprus, and Malta.
Our company has realized 43 projects that include exhibitions, conferences, festivals, summits, and forums, and organized 5 awards ceremonies (Vapexpo, 3D Print Expo, and WEGAME).
Never too much of Bitcoin
Our network of blockchain events has grown to 11 events per year, whereas there were four of them in 2016. Apart from the first countries such as Russia, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, it has spread to Estonia, Sweden, Kazakhstan, Slovenia, Malta, and Cyprus.
The topic of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies has become extremely popular in 2017, conferences organized by Smile-Expo throughout the world have attracted thousands of attendees, and Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference Moscow has become the largest event in Russia with more than 3000 attendees, 40 speakers, and 64 exhibitors.
2018 will see even more blockchain events, as more than 20 conferences have been already planned in different cities and countries. In February and March, events will take place in the Philippines, Switzerland, Russia, Estonia, India, Turkey, Israel, and Thailand.
Embracing new directions
In 2017, Smile-Expo has launched a series of new projects on cryptocurrency crowdsales. ICO Event conferences have successfully taken place in Moscow, London, and Amsterdam.
Our company has held VR|AR GAMBLING Conference in Prague for the first time. This unique event dedicated to innovative technologies in gambling brought together the leaders of the European gambling market.
Furthermore, 2017 has become the first year when ChatBot Conferences and AI Conference took place. Chatbot developments were presented in Moscow and Kyiv. Experts in the development of artificial intelligence systems met in the capital of Russia. There are plans to expand the potential of these events further in the future.
Favorite events have changed their format
This year, a part of Smile-Expo’s events has taken place in a new format.
AR/VR/MR Conference represents a new format of AR Conference. This year, apart from augmented and virtual reality, conference speakers have paid attention to mixed reality. Our guests have appraised the changes: there were twice as many attendees as the last year.
Internet of Things conference and exhibition area has been transformed into a two-day forum. It combined the exhibition, open lectures, Speed Dealing, Startup Battle, and the business conference.
Ukrainian Vapor Week 2017 is the first seaside vape party in Ukraine and the CIS region. Smile-Expo's audacious experiment has run successfully, attendees liked the vape event on the shore of the Black Sea.
Overall, eight vaping exhibitions have been held. Russia has seen four vaping exhibitions, three of which took place in Moscow (compared with two in 2016). One of Moscow-based VapeShow exhibitions has also gained a new format with the focus placed on the entertainment area as well as the degustation and sales area.
Connected Car Summit, organized by our company together with GLONASS Union for the second year in a row, has turned into a platform for presenting state projects on the innovation-driven development of the transport industry of the Russian Federation in 2017. At the conference, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Aleksandr Morozov made a presentation on the industry’s current state in the country.
Plans for 2018
As mentioned above, our company is planning to expand the horizons, especially in the cryptocurrency direction – the geography of events will expand to the countries of Europe, Asia, and South Africa. In 2018, Smile-Expo will keep experimenting with formats and looking for state-of-the-art directions for events.
For instance, Moscow will host the international Quantum Technology Conference on March 1. We are growing and advancing like our events!
