250 participants from 20 countries! On March 9, we held Estonia’s first and largest conference dedicated to blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
Taking into account the governmental support of IT and a great success of Estonian developers in the sphere of state administration, we focused on Govtech. We invited executives of major blockchain projects and companies in Estonia – e-Residency, LHV, Funderbeam to perform as speakers.
Presentations were also delivered by representatives of Emercoin, Distributed Lab, Bitcoin Foundation, WageCan, Innovations and Development Foundation, IBM, OpenLedger, HashCoins, National Blockchain Association, BitcoinChaser, Cryptopay, cyberFund, Waves platform. All these companies successfully represent blockchain industry.
Participants discussed the prospects of blockchain technologies in Govtech and financial sector, challenges of creating blockchain consortiums, formation of a free digital society, crowdfunding campaigns on blockchain, capabilities of smart contracts, advantages of closed and open blockchains, state regulation issues, as well as marketing approaches to digital currencies.
According to Kaspar Korjus, managing director of e-Residency, it is hard to imagine a better place to discuss blockchain than Tallinn. He called Estonia the motherland of digital community and added that only the interaction between technologies, legal environment and efficient state administration provides a possibility to evaluate the impact of blockchain technology.
