On April 20 and 21, Smile-Expo hosted the fifth festival for fans of video games and cosplay WEGAME 5.0 in the capital of Ukraine. The jubilee event was attended by a record number of participants and exhibitors.
Exhibition: for those who loves games
This time 50 industry-specific companies engaged in video game development, production of computers and accessories, distribution of comics and souvenir products, presented their solutions to geeks and gamers in the exhibition area.
Almost every booth offered contests, testing of products, and prize draws. Thus, Cougar and Bloody A4Tech, brands that supply computer peripherals and accessories for gamers, unveiled novelties and organized a quiz and tournaments of board games.
At the booth of Expert PC, guests were testing cool gaming hardware and playing Battlefield 5, Apex Legends, and CS:GO. Vision Tech demonstrated capabilities of personalized gaming PCs, and Active Game allowed guests to try out car simulators at their booth. One of the most popular booths were those with video games including TowerHex VR.
The booth of Vodafone mobile carrier had its own game zone: there were competitions in Asphalt 8, and a VR tennis game that showed the difference in the operation of 4G and 5G.

About eSports, game development, and cosplay – open lectures
The main stage of the event saw a cosplay defile, awarding of tournament winners, and informative lectures on game development, photography art, craft, blogging, and eSports.
On the first day, representatives of the eSports industry gave their lectures: Arseniy Salay from FINT Esports Academy, cyber football player Oleg “Walkman” Shustenko, and CMO of Windigo Gaming Eugen Nikolaev. Oleksandr Dyakivnych (Alex_D20) and Stas Burov (Zaddrot.com and Keddr.com) discussed game blogging and streaming themes.
The second day offered lectures about game development, cosplay, and geek art. Lectures were given by the independent game developer Ivan Kovalov, Anna and Pavel Ohol from Any Robots, and the cosplay contest judge Elena [Pugoffka] Kucheruk.
Show program hosts were the video blogger Andrii Biryulin and actress Kristina Zomchak that were helping guests to find their way around at the two-day festival. The jubilee WEGAME 5.0 was the largest, loudest, brightest, and record-breaking in terms of attendance as compared to the rest of organized festivals.
Engaging games, technical novelties, and a bright cosplay show were interesting to both adults and children. WEGAME 5.0 was also attended by children from the orphanage with the support from Freeway charity fund. The organizer of the festival Smile-Expo cares about children and is always happy to see them at events.
We are expressing gratitude to sponsors, participants, and guests of the event. See you next year! You can find more information about the past event on the official website of WEGAME.
